New Orleans Trip Post #3
We’re home now. We got back on Tuesday, and I cannot tell you all how good it is to be back in my own bed. ๐
We met so many wonderful people at the convention. We have swag out the wazoo and got to see so many wonderful sites. I’m already missing the French Market. I’m going to have to take some serious pictures of the treasures we’ve bought down here. I’m a little embarrassed about it, frankly. Everyone will get to see what kind of nerd I really am.
Ah hell… Why put it off? Here’s some of the stuff I bought and then had to immediately pack once I got it home.
This is a hair clip.
A clockwork bracelet. Love the steampunk.
Dragon braceletDragon finger armor.
Jazz music for the trip home. ๐ Don’t Mess With My Tush. Very catchy.
Brand new reading material. ๐
Beetle pendant. Very colorful. I don’t know where I’ll ever wear it. But the next time a bug convention comes to town, I am so ready for it!
Beaded purse and the pictures after that are of a gorgeous shawl I found. I’ll be the snazziest person there at the bug convention.
We pick up the moving truck on Tuesday, close on the house and start moving in on Wednesday, return the truck on Thursday. I’m already tired. lol On the flip side, I finished the first draft of my Corbin’s Bend novel, Last Dance for Cadence. I have six days to do the edits, get it off to my wonderful, hardworking Beta readers and then submit it for publication. All while moving.
Okay, now I really am tired.
Great stuff! I love that first t-shirt! Spiders…. No way! You seem like you had a blast!
We did. It was a ton of fun! ๐
Looks like you had an awesome time! Love the stream punk, dragons, and beaded bag!
Thank you! I love the steampunk aesthetic. While we were down there, we found a vendor who does full head to toe wear. The pieces were phenomenal!
That must have been amazing to see. I have a book on steampunk design which I adore. I’ve made a few small pieces but haven’t taken on a head to toe task yet. Maybe when I get to go to a steampunk event I’ll get up the ambition. ๐
Hi Maren, welcome home even if it is only temporary ๐ i love the dragon bracelet & finger armour [lol funny i’ve been writing about those] so glad you got so many thing’s to remember your time in New Orleans by! Good Luck with the move take care
I love all the steampunk stuff you got. So beautiful–well except the beetle. LOL I would be a mess down there with all the steampunk. That shawl is amazing!! Glad things got better, looks like it was a blast!
